Packed Blocks
Carbon Blocks are produced at Belgaum. The main raw material used in the manufacture of carbon blocks is Electrically Calcined Anthracite coal. Synthetic Coarse Graphite is added to reduce the electrical resistance. The green blocks are made by vibro compaction, baked, and then machined to the required dimensions as specified by customers. Mainly used as cathodes for electrolytic cells in aluminium smelters. Hindalco smelters use these blocks and have been able to achieve average cell life of more than 2000 days. These Blocks can also be used for furnace applications and tap holes in Ferro Alloy and Chemical Industries. Technical Specifications
