Lining-Tamping Paste Lining/Tamping Paste is used for lining of electric arc furnaces as well as in aluminium electrolytic cells. The major properties of Lining paste are its ability to withstand high temperature (>1000oC ) over long periods of time, its low porosity and its ability to be chemically inert to vatious molten salts. Lining/Tamping Paste ( Type I) is produced using Electrically Calcined Anthracite Coal (ECA), Tar and Coal Tar Pitch (CTP). Hindalco also produces Tamping Paste (Type II) by using only Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) instead of (ECA). Technical Specifications
